5 tips for busy moms

Staying organized and planning helps me when we are in a busy season

  • Meal Prep to start your week. This will help you to stay on track for your goals and budget

  • Use a shared calendar system - my favorite is Artful Agenda but any app works. The shared calendar will help you to plan out meals knowing when everyone will be available to eat.

  • Use grocery delivery - I love Walmart+ and order every week. I prefer to order mid-week for the best stock options. I also find that I stay more in budget if I order online because the kids aren’t adding things to the cart and I don’t have impulse buys.

  • Do a load of laundry mid week so that you aren’t waiting until the weekend to do all the laundry.

    • If you have kids, make them do their laundry and be responsible for it. You can assign a night for them to do their laundry or just let them manage. My kids both received a laundry basket at age 10 and started doing their own laundry.

  • Vacuum mid-week. If you have an automated vacuum, schedule it or turn it on before you get home. If you don’t, pick one room and tidy up. I find that if I can vacuum and tidy up one night a week this helps to keep my weekends free.

    • I previously found that Thursday nights were good to clean during the week but any night works.
